The mod claims 50+ missions, I think not including a re-released and tweaked Freespace 2 campaign. It’s the closest thing to an official Freespace 3 game.įreespace 2 is one of those games where the source code is available, like Falcon 4 that also got a new version in the last week, so it’s still being worked on to this day. It was finally released yesterday and it’s virtually a Freespace 3 because the mod continues the story directly from Freespace 2.
